Mick Ralphs
By Bill Geist•
He was always in the background…but one of my faves (and Lefsetz’ too).
Guitarist for both Mott the Hoople and Bad Company, Mick was the understated artist behind the music. When David Bowie gifted Mott their biggest hit, it was Mick who made it theirs.
And his work with Bad Company was magical. Yeah…Paul Rogers’ voice was transcendent. But Mick drove the bus. And we recently lost him.
On this Music Friday we offer some of our faves….
Obviously, his take on “All the Young Dudes“.
And the very cool “Simple Man.”
One of my faves was always “Ready for Love.”
And “Good Lovin’ Gone Bad.“
Sleep sweet prince.
