Continued Shutdown Could Force Closure of US Airspace

US Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy has warned that if the government shutdown continues for another week, it could force the closure of parts of the national airspace, causing widespread disruption to American aviation.

The shutdown has already led to tens of thousands of flight delays and cancellations, with increasing air traffic controller absences making it difficult to manage airspace safely. U.S. Travel Association reports that Duffy emphasized “mass chaos” could result if the situation is not resolved soon.
