AAA predicts over 72 million people will travel over the holiday weekend
Looking at trips off 50 miles or more away from home, domestic travel is expected to break records over the 4th of July holiday period in 2025. of these 58.4 million are expected to fly, up 1.4% from last year. “Prepare for company on the roads,” says ABC News, with 61.6 million expected to drive.
At $3.20 per gallon, the price of gas nationwide is down 24¢ from this time last year and this is the lowest average rpice per gallon in four years, says AAA.
And, hello…Independence Day 2025 falls on a Friday. The heaviest travel days are predicted to be Wednesday, July 2 and Sunday, July 6 for perhaps, according to the FAA, the busiest summer weekend in the past 15 years.
