Dragon Trail Interactive has produced its Q3 2024 WeChat Rankings Report for international tourism brands.

Since 2017, this report has covered NTOs and DMOs, as well as airlines and cruise lines, using WhatsApp as a social channel. International hotels, museums and attractions were added in 2019, and most recently, airports and car rental companies were added.

What type of overseas travel brand content is currently attracting the most views from WeChat users? The top accounts and articles We see high interest in practical, useful information, along with giveaways, discounts, and events, such as the Paris Olympics.

NTOs — Japan National Tourism Office has a big lead in the #1 position. Brand USA ranks #10 among the top 20 national tourist offices and Destination Canada follows closely at #11.

DMOs — Similarly to past quarters, Macau posted much more content than any other DMO and received the most total views and average views. Of the top 20 DMO users, the Macau Government Tourism Office is way in front as #1. In North America, Destination BC is #5, Los Angeles Tourism + Convention Board is #7, and New York City Tourism + Conventions in #11 followed by Hawaii Tourism Authority as #12, Discover Philadelphia as #13, Visit California as #14, Travel South as #15 and Destination Ontario as #16.
