Thanks for writing this and speaking so honestly. As a member of the LGBTQ community, this makes me sad but it is just an extension of the "don't say gay" policy. "Everyone is welcome" as long as you don't show up expecting to be yourself. I have stopped visiting Florida since 2019 and have no intention of visiting there again even though my sister and her family live there. I am not the only person I know who has taken Florida off their list of places to visit because of this. I truly hope things change in the future.
