In Central Pennsylvania, Susquehanna River Valley Visitors Bureau is in the news.
Timothy Alan Dowhower, 43, of Mifflinburg, was arraigned Friday in district court on charges of theft, criminal use of communication facility and unauthorized use of a credit card over a six-year period. He was released on $870,000 unsecured bail.
Dowhower is accused of paying a company he established, Logical Destination, to do digital marketing for the bureau at $868,619. From 2018 to this year, the bureau paid the company $150,000 annually. Officials revealed that Dowhower and the company under which Dowhower’s name was registered never did any of the work the visitors bureau thought was getting done.
