Where Wonder Begins: Designing Destinations for the Littlest Explorer

Last night in Target, I came across a Golden Girls children’s book.

Yes—the Golden Girls as a bedtime story! ( I should have bought it! )

And it got me thinking…

What if this book is a child’s very first impression of the Golden Girls?

What if it becomes the reason they fall in love with Dorothy’s sarcasm, Blanche’s flirtatious charm, Sophia’s stories, and Rose’s earnest heart?

And suddenly, I couldn’t stop thinking about destinations.

What’s the first impression your destination makes on a child?

Fellow DMO marketers:

What does your region look like through their eyes?

🏔 Is your scenic overlook a mountain made for dragons?

🏁 Is your racetrack a real-life video game?

💦 Is your waterpark a kingdom with waterfall slides and bubble spells?

Because kids aren’t just tagging along.

They’re writing the opening pages of travel stories they’ll remember for life!

So I’ll ask again, in my best Rose Nylund voice:

What does your destination look like through a child’s eyes?
