
A luxurious Tucson, Arizona resort and spa is seeking an exceptional and visionary Director of Sales and Marketing who will shape and execute the overall marketing strategy for the resort.
The Director of Sales & Marketing is responsible for planning, directing, controlling, and implementing strategies and activities that generate and maximize overall revenues. This role requires expertise in marketing, sales, promotion, advertising, and public relations to create a positive impact on all operational departments, ensuring a profitable return on investment. The Director will oversee, motivate, guide, and support the Sales, Catering, and Conference Services teams while maintaining positive interdepartmental communications.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maximize room potential and exceed established group rate guidelines.
- Develop, maintain, and implement revenue-generating strategies/action plans for the hotel.
- Stimulate productivity and development of sales staff.
- Create and implement innovative packages for identified need periods in various markets.
- Actively solicit key accounts to generate direct sales.
- Maintain a proactive solicitation environment within the Sales Team.
- Assist in achieving Food and Beverage revenue goals.
- Design and capitalize on advertising and public relations opportunities.
- Develop, maintain, and implement budgeting and forecasting processes.
- Control marketing expenses to ensure optimal operating profit.
- Ensure effective administrative procedures and timely completion of required reports.
- Enhance hotel visibility through active participation in industry associations and trade shows.
- Provide collateral and information to keep customers informed about the hotel.
- Promote a challenging and growth-oriented environment for career development.
- Support and promote corporate programs to enhance customer awareness and ensure customer benefits.
- Maintain product quality and ensure the protection and cleanliness of assets through the Convention Services Department.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 5-7 years in a Hotel Sales Leadership role.
- Experience in forecasting and budgeting.
- Ability to interview, supervise, and train subordinates.
- Capability to plan, direct, supervise, monitor, and review all sales functions.
- Independently resolve personnel and production issues.
- Proficiency in preparing sales, financial, activity, and forecast reports.
- Competent in accessing, inputting, and retrieving information using appropriate computer systems.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to maintain good interpersonal relations with co-workers, prospects, guests, vendors, and others.
