A luxurious, oceanfront Hawaii resort is seeking an adaptable, team-oriented and strategic professional to serve as the new Director of Group and Business Travel.

The Director of Group and Business Travel is responsible for driving, facilitating, and executing the commercial business strategy to support the Group Segment and Corporate Business Travel market, specifically through connection including TMC’s. This role includes the development and effective solicitation of new sales prospects, as well as the establishment and nurturing of client relationships to close business deals and achieve sales targets.

The ideal candidate will be a successful sales professional with a proven track record and reputation in the upscale/hotel sector. They will bring a proactive sales approach, focusing on uncovering new business opportunities while leveraging existing relationships in Hawaii. Additionally, the candidate will have a deep understanding of strategic selling and will be skilled in nurturing and expanding relationships with existing Outrigger customers. Key responsibilities include leading sales initiatives, activities, and programs that support the achievement of established sales, revenue targets, and business goals across the global portfolio, with a particular emphasis on the group and business transient segments.

KEY HIGHLIGHTS: 

• Lead group and corporate business travel sales, including TMC partnerships.
• Focus on driving new business and nurturing existing client relationships in Hawaii.
• Act as a “mini-GSO” supporting multiple properties with sales initiatives.
• Collaborate with Hawaii-based clients (e.g., Hawaiian Airlines, Matson, Foodland).
• Location: Hawaii is preferred (70% of time in O’ahu) or West Coast Mainland (with preference for Hawaii).

QUALIFICATIONS:

• 5+ years of sales experience in the travel industry, ideally multi-property.
• Strong relationships with Hawaii-based accounts.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Delphi.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is preferred.
