Sounds Like

I truly believe that most artists don’t intentionally cop other artists’ riffs. Billy Joel famously admits to borrowing styles from other artists he admires…but never the riff. And, while George Harrison was found guilty of plagiarizing “He’s So Fine” for “My Sweet Lord,” I’ll never believe it was intentional.

As we often do on Music Friday, we point out similarities in the songs we love. And today, it’s Drew Holcomb and Bon Jovi. And, maybe it’s just the “hey heys.” But you tell us…don’t these two songs sound suspiciously similar?

Drew: “Shine Like Lightning.”

Bon Jovi: “Lost Highway.”

Which, along with “Never Going Back to OK” is one of my life anthems.
