Mid-sized US Cities Gain Popularity for Business Travel

American Express has released new travel data revealing emerging cities for business trips. In a report released last month, the company analyzed year-over-year growth in hotel and airline transactions among commercial customers.

Several mid-sized cities were included in list of the emerging business travel areas. According to American Express, these five cities are rising in popularity as business travel destinations:

  • Richmond, VA: A Developing Economic Center in a Business-Supporting State
  • Columbus, OH: Capital City Becoming Known for More than Meetings
  • Charleston, SC: A Southern Star in Economic Expansion
  • Boise, ID: The Rocky Mountain West’s Emerging Talent Magnet
  • New Orleans, LA:  “Built to Host” in the Big Easy
