ICYMI: Here’s the first post to pop up in our new column featuring good news from the tourism community. Our friends at The Florida Keys & Key West shared a good news story on their LinkedIn page last week. “It’s segments like this,” the DMO wrote, “that educate our visitors to care for our environment and be conscious of our ‘locals’ during their travels.”
Do you have a good news story to share? Please send it along.
“Tonight NBC News Nightly News featured the story of Lenny, the giant 322 lb. loggerhead sea turtle, who was released back to his ocean home.
Lenny’s rescue was quickly coordinated by The Turtle Hospital in Marathon, local photographer Mike Papish and Sundance Water Sports, after Lenny was found injured by a predator. He responded well to treatment and was released just in time for sea turtle mating season.”
