Almost a year ago, the community of Longmont, Colorado was invited to help create a fun new mascot for Visit Longmont, and Seventy creative ideas rolled in and after careful consideration, the top three went up for a vote. With more than 1,000 votes tallied, the clear winner was Monty the Longmonster.

The DMO says, “Monty the Longmonster embodies everything we love about Longmont—Monty is welcoming, fun, vibrant, and delightfully quirky…As one resident describes: Monty is ‘green, with shaggy fur and big, silly pointy teeth—a little bit googly.’ We believe there’s a bit (or a lot!) of Longmonster in all of us, and we’re thrilled to introduce Monty to you!”

Monty will be making appearances during the week of October 20-26 at several Longmont breweries celebrating the new mascot with special releases each day, plus commemorative pint glasses featuring Monty himself.
